About
My research is tentatively on the issue/claim of deforestation and forest degradation in Meghalaya, India. I seek to understand the causes of deforestation in Garo hills, and assess the ecological consequences of it. The focus of the work is on the practice of shifting cultivation in this relatively overlooked and probably misunderstood region of northeast India.
